Custom Freeform Pool
These clients called Johnson Pools looking to add a tranquil space where they could relax and the kids could have fun. The husband really wanted a nice BBQ area where he could use his charcoal grill.
We worked on this project right in the middle of the pandemic and experienced material shortages. The existing patio pavers were no longer available to us, so we had to search for a paver that was a perfect match. Since we weren’t able to find one, we decided to change the direction of the pavers and add the cobblestone border to the pool patio area to help transition.
These clients liked the look of a curvilinear free form shaped pool and patio area. The raised wall behind the pool not only serves as an accent wall with the water features, but also acts a retaining wall that helps with stormwater management when it rains.
At first, these clients were on the fence about adding an outdoor kitchen. When they gave the go-ahead, the pavers we had selected weren’t available. We decided together on flooring that had a wood-like appearance with more durability.
This client loves his charcoal grill, but he decided to upgrade his cooking space by adding a gas grill with a larger surface area, allowing for quicker cooking times on days he didn’t want to wait for his charcoal grill to preheat. The outdoor kitchen is equipped with a Perlick fridge and has a bar with seating for entertaining guests while prepping snacks.
