Screened-In Porch & Composite Deck – Clarksville, MD

This client wanted us to upgrade their outside deck because they love being outdoors, but have been frustrated when their outside time and parties are driven inside due to the weather.

We came up with a design concept that incorporated a screened-in porch with a living room feel, while keeping an area of the deck uncovered so they can sit beneath the stars. It was also important for the new screened-in porch and deck to match the architectural elements of their home.

Inside the screened-in porch, we created an exposed beam vaulted ceiling to add visual interest and create a sense of openness. They didn’t want just another stone fireplace, so we came up with this white PVC mantel with a glass tiled accent surround around the Montigo fireplace gas insert. Our team hand scribed and routed all the small reveals and details in the mantel design on site, making it a true one-of-a-kind fireplace! When these clients don’t have a fire going, they can turn on the color changing LED light system for dramatic flair.

The flooring in the screened porch and outside deck is a composite deck board from Fiberon called Horizons in an Ipe color. Composite is great for long-term durability and is low-maintenance.
